Ioana

Born in Romania

The work of Ioana is a world of condensed emotions, of voyages and encounters conjured up through her extraordinary sensitivity. The collection of paintings produced, “Around Music” is a real explosion of joy, a controlled vitality beating to the rhythm of the musical works the artist is inspired by and which she translates into these fugitive images, moments of complicity with the composer. Music and painting become one, a perfect osmosis of the visual and sound, rendered through colors, linear rhythms, evocations that are more or less upsetting, calming, repetitive almost to obsession, occasionally approaching violence but always in harmony with its musical reference. We find a profusion of form and color subjected to strict technique, … worlds of transparency and light gracefulness, … a restrained violence. Ioana knows how to share her moods and her perception of music. We need not be reminded that she was the wife of a well-known conductor for many years. Monique Le Tac Writer
